World Rankings |
The AWSL promotes club based slalom competitions where skiers can compete against one another regardless of ability using The World Waterski League's unique computer based scoring system where skiers can either compete on a handicap system known as "Super League" or skiers of many different ages and divisions can have their scores compared to the world standings in their respective divisions which is known as "Pro League". The system was first used at the world renowned Ski World South Africa and was developed with the professional Input of Sean Jagoe, AWSL President Don Shead and Engineering Student Simon Jagoe. The WWSL computer scoring program is available free of charge to clubs in Australia. To enter a AWSL competition for the first time a skier submits their Personal Best Score along with their next best 4 scores to a AWSL affiliated club. The affiliated club then sends the scores to WWSL headquarters and from this a handicap is created for the skier based on his or her ability. The skier is now able to ski in WWSL tournaments anywhere in the world and his or her scores will go towards a Australian Ranking as well as a International Ranking. To assist clubs with their first League competition, AWSL will send a person, provided there is a minimum of 15 AWSL registered skiers in the event. What will be provided will be on water coaching on the Saturday followed by an information session later that afternoon or evening. On Sunday onsite instruction for running the competition and guidance on using the WWSL computer program. All this is provided free of charge to any club in Australia.
